Marley's stats.

just checkin my emails...

I put Marley's birthday stuff on the last post, but I didn't really say much about her and what she's like these days. If I don't put it down here, I will never remember it--since I think the last time I wrote in my journal was when Marley was like 2 months old! At her year appointment she weighed 18 pounds (7%) and was 29.5 inches long (75%)....super tall and super skinny! It kills me that we have these tall kids--I have no idea where it comes from.
Some things about Miss Moo are:
-she still has crazy nicknames, the most common being Miss Moo, Sis, and Mars
-her favorite show is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, but also likes Elmo's World
-has been walking all over the place for about a month now
-only has 4 teeth--2 top, 2 bottom
-loves to play with Tate, she even is learning how to tease him like he teases her
-definitely a girl-can be dramatic and throw a mean fit it needs be
-very sensitive little thing.....i.e. I took her to the park last week and she was staring at the ground whining and wouldn't walk. I realized she is AFRAID OF HER SHADOW. Seriously.
-she loves dogs
-it doesn't matter what I do, her hair grows straight into her eyes. I don't know how she can even see sometimes
-a big climber like her brother
-is so sweet and calm, she will just do her own thing and kind of wander around.
-loves to throw stuff on the ground and say "uh-oh!" with her hands in the air like, "what? I didn't do anything"
-a major mama's girl! :)

Marley's 1st birthday!

This has been such a fast year, I can't believe Mar is already a year old! It feels really good to put away her baby stuff like the bouncer, exersaucer, and infant car seat; and trade those in for pigtails, dolls and lots of shoes! Her birthday was last Wednesday, and we just gave her a few presents as a family: a stuffed animal dog and a zhu zhu pet dog (she loves dogs:)
Thursday we had a little party with the Love's and tried to do the traditional cake smashing. But being the little dainty thing she is, she was not having any of that. I even tried pushing her fingers in it and she was very irritated.Marley with her Minnie Mouse cake
(She got a lot of clothes and Mickey Mouse stuff--
that is her favorite show)

Then Sunday we had another party with the Wakefield's--where she got more clothes and Mickey Mouse stuff! She was a little more willing to eat a chocolate cupcake this time!
Happy birthday my baby doll! I love you!

What's up...

I feel like I haven't really updated what's been going on lately, so here goes...Marley is walking now! I love watching her toddle around like a drunk, it's so cute. And she always has her "doggy" in her mouth while she walks. She takes that blankie/stuffed animal everywhere! She is going to turn one next week! I can't believe she's already one, this past year really has flown by. I love my babies getting older, I know people love and miss the "baby" stage but I couldn't be more happy to kiss it goodbye!
Tate is still apparently in Christmas mode. He is always drawing snowmen ,singing Christmas songs, writing letters to Santa, and every time he sees a toy he wants he says "I'll have to ask Santa for that". To each his own I guess! He's been loving going to play tennis with his cousin Banks at the rec center--anything that has to do with sports he's obsessed. What he's NOT so obsessed about? Church. It's been very rough getting him to go to primary. I'm not gonna lie, it's hard for me to go. Church these days is so much more work with kids, it sometimes feels pointless. (one of Tate's snowmen)
I am actually working one day a week at Jord's work, and I really like it. I would never want to go back full time, but I have to admit it's nice to get away and be with adults for a few hours. It's a good break, and the kids love it because they go to Grandma Kathy's and get spoiled!

Addiction

I had no idea just how addicted I was/am to the internet until our computer crashed a few weeks ago. It was seriously painful to not be able to get on and know what was going on in the world. I feel like it's my link to the outside world sometimes. I missed blogging, emails, being able to pay my bills:( and my daily dose of celebrity gossip. It's not like I sit on the computer all day, but it's nice to know I have it when I want it! So now we are back up and running and it is oh so FABULOUS.

Groundhog Day

I can't tell you how bad I despise that movie, I have never liked it. And now, it is the story of my life. For almost 4 years now every day has been the same freaking day, I'm just wearing different pajama pants (sometimes). I never knew how monotonous being a stay-at-home mom could be, but it is. It's also the best decision I've ever made. It's so hard and exhausting and some days I just cry because I'm so frustrated, but I wouldn't change it for the world. These two little people are my reason for getting up and doing the same thing day after day:

High Hopes.

I've been trying lately to think differently about my kids qualities that I don't particularly like. Such as Tate's extreme stubbornness and need for complete independence, or Marley's oversensitivity and desire to wake up at exactly 5 o'clock every day. I've complained for so long about how irritating these things are, and it's not doing me any good. These things are not going to change, because that's who these little people are (well, dear lord please let us sleep in just a little later someday). So I'm trying to resolve how I hope these qualities will benefit them when they are older.
I hope that Tate's stubbornness to do (or not do) anything unless he wants to will help him as a teenager to resist temptation to do what he knows isn't right. I hope it will make him stand up for what he believes in and not waver. I hope he is determined in whatever path he chooses and is unrelenting in achieving it. I hope his independence makes him unafraid to be himself. I hope he wants to stand out and not disappear into the crowd. I hope he always has that fire in him I see every day.
I hope Marley will always have that sensitivity that will make her compassionate to everyone around her. I hope it drives her to befriend everyone and refuse to exclude others. I hope that her being such a morning person will mean she is excited for each day, and can't wait to start her life. I hope her stubbornness will continue into womanhood so that people can see she is a strong independent person; I hope that also drives her to become whomever she decides to be and not let anyone tell her otherwise.
I hope...

Merry Christmas (cough, cough, cough)

So the kids had a great Christmas--Tate got everything he wanted and more, and Marley had her first Christmas ever! She could have cared less about anything she got, she was just interested in whatever Tate was. And Tate said about 25 times over, "this is the best Christmas ever!!" I love seeing him so excited.
The only bummer was I was sick as a dog...I ended up at Instacare and tested positive for freaking swine flu!! Glad I got my vaccine:( So I was miserable most of Christmas and am just now starting to feel better...
Tate with his new camera and car garage

Santa brought Marley a little kitchen
Mar with her new dolly
At Grandma Love's house with his new Utes stuff she gave him

Other than feeling like death for the holidays, it was a good christmas, and it was fun to have miss Marley around this year for it! Hopefully next year we are all feeling well!...
