Cry Baby!

For some reason I have been doing alot of crying lately--and I'm usually not a crier. (and NO I'm not pregnant) I cried watching The Biggest Loser, cried watching P.S. I Love You-seriously, have you seen that movie?? Good lord, I bawled the entire 2 hours! And Tate has also made me do some crying- I cried when he burned his foot really bad last week on my hair straightener coz' I felt so awful....but mostly he makes me cry out of frustration! He's been so naughty, and whiney, and clingy, and throwing huge tantrums.....and I can't stand it. Oh, and this he does now for fun when I want him to go to sleep.

So today he had his 18 month check up and I talked to the doctor about it all. (fyi for my own record: 21.9 lbs-10% and 33 in 50%) He said I need to quit calling him naughty or he'll live up to that name. I need to call him my good boy all the time instead, even when he's being naughty. So here's to my GOOD BOY, you better live up to THAT name.

"Pour some sUgar on me!"

So my life has now been completed. I've had so many great things happen to me; the marriage to my beautiful wife, the birth of my son, an Xbox 360. Well now I can add the 2009 Sugar Bowl Champions to my list. I was able to see my beloved Utes go undefeated this year. Ashley was nice enough to let me go to New Orleans and see the Utes play Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. I can now die a happy man. It was the greatest game I have ever been to. The trip was also amazing because I got to see one of my very best mission buddies, Aaron Mangum. He lives in New Orleans and I haven't had the opportunity to see him since the mission almost 9 yrs ago. Warning: Picture overload.

So it began with the Mangum's meeting us at our hotel lobby and giving us "the tour." We walked through the French Quarter. This was the Mangum's and I at Jackson Square.

We then went to a local restaraunt and ate all the great food from the dirty dirty south. We had fried alligator, jumbalaya, red beans and rice, fried crawfish. (They are not crawdads, locals call them crawfish.) We also had fried oysters, catfish, and squid. The food was amazing and we had a jazz band playing right by us.

Us walking to Bourbon Street.

My one word for Bourbon Street would be CRAZY! We went during the day and it was still pretty nuts. (I can't imagine it at night.) Drunk people all over, strip clubs on both sides of the street, a dude dropped trout to get some beads right next to us, the whole nine yards. All in all it was an experience to say the least. A lot of fun.

Later that night we went to a pep rally for the Utes. It was awesome. The band played, and we got to cheer and meet the players as they walked out giving everyone fives. It was an amazing experience.

The game was awesome, and we seal clubbed the Crimson Tide. The Utes finished 13-0 and should have finished #1. All in all it was an amazing trip and a wonderful year. I leave you with some pictures from the game.

Goodbye 2008!

This year Jordan and I kissed 2008 goodbye in different states. I gave Tate my New Years kiss, and Jord kissed....I don't know, maybe someone on Bourbon Street. He will do his own post about New Orleans later.
So I will tell you all how I rang in New Years....up at the Ranch with my family! It's usually a Love tradition to spend it there--that's actually how Jord and I met.(another post, another day) but since they were all out of town the Wakefield's went. We ate, relaxed, chatted, and went sledding. It was great to get away for a few days, and Tate loved it! He wanted to sled the whole time, or should I say he loved laying on the sled while I sweat to death pulling him around.
some of the nieces and nephews chillin in the hot tub... the other kids were watching a movie in the tv room so Tate watched Wonder Pets on Addie's ipod...lifesaver

The Christmas Recap

I figured I better hurry and post about our Christmas because I have a few other posts coming soon! (Jord is in New Orleans at the Sugar Bowl as I write) We spent Christmas Eve with the Love's going to dinner, Temple Square, and opening jammies. Well maybe I should say everybody else ate dinner while me and Jord took turns chasing Tate all over Texas Roadhouse--let me tell you how fun that was.We then slept at my parents house with Meg and her kids--this was probably the last year doing that since we all have kids and it's getting harder to do. But it was awesome to have all the kids wake up and see what santa brought them, they were so excited.

This 4-wheeler probably wasn't the smartest idea, all Tate did half the morning was drive it all over the house running into everyone. But I thought it was so cute!

My parents gave Tate this couch and he was so excited that he wouldn't even finish unwrapping it because he just wanted to sit on it.Jord spoiled me this year! This is me and my super happy face after seeing my new ipod--I think I was the last person on earth who didn't have one.Jord's parent gave Tate this cool space train set, and Jord spent hours playing and putting it together. I think he likes it more than Tate does! We had a great Christmas, and I loved just being around family and hanging out more than anything.
