Help me

We leave on Sunday for Newport Beach and I am all sorts of stressed out. I tend to be like my dad who is a basket case when it comes to travel--I have a list of everything to pack, I have to print out the flight info, and I need to know all itinerary for the whole trip. I know, I need to seriously relax but I can't. So now having a child to pack and deal with is freaking me out. For those of you who are seasoned travelers with children....are there any tricks I should know? I've never taken Tate anywhere so I don't know how to fly with him or what to really take. How do I keep him quiet and entertained during the flight? (mind you, this is a child who can't sit during sacrament for 10 seconds without making some sort of scene).

Happy Fathers Day!

Well, sort of. Jord was on call and worked all weekend so I barely even saw him. Poor guy, what a crappy way to spend his weekend. But boy did Tate and I have fun for him! We got Tate his new carseat so we can FINALLY turn him around. I don't care that he's not 1 yet, it's close enough.
I put him in it when we got home to see what he'd think....and he said "It's about freakin time lady! I've been cramped in that baby seat for 3 months now!"

Then on Saturday we finally got to go swimming in grandma Love's pool for the first time! I was all excited thinking he'd love it and go crazy....and it was just so-so to him. I don't think he knew what to do with that much water.

Jord was able to come towards the end and swim for a bit before Tate was not having it anymore.

And then this was what Jord got Sunday for fathers day....a wheelbarrow, an electric saw, and cologne. That's when you know your getting old when you get a wheelbarrow as a GIFT.
Shortly after that he had to go to work...sorry it was just a blah weekend for you Jord, I hope you at least enjoyed it a little bit!

Krystal's Wedding

(sorry about the blur, my fingers were numb so it was difficult)

On Saturday Krystal and Tyler finally got married! They have been dating as long as I've even known Jord....so it was about time! They married in the Salt Lake Temple and had the reception at the McCune Mansion-it was beautiful. Being JUNE and all, you would think the weather would be perfect. But it amazingly relapsed into MARCH and we all spent the day freezing our buns off! I thought I'd never thaw again.

Tate was an awful mess at the reception. He hadn't napped the entire day and hated being dressed up, so by the time pictures came he freaked out. He was THAT kid who refused to hold still and smile, arched his back, and cried the whole time. Krystal was so cute trying to get him to at least play with her dress so he'd hold still for 2 seconds.

This was what he wanted to do instead. So by the time my parents came and took him home with them he had broken my necklace, spilled punch all down his shirt, had frosting all over his tie, and made me consider getting my tubes tied.

It was such an amazing and fun day though, and I am so happy for Sis and Ty!

Little Hailey...

Hailey with her best friend Papa

So I hope Meg doesn't mind me posting about this, but too bad I did it anyway. My 2 year old niece Hailey has been up at Primary Children's Hospital for a week now and they still don't know what's wrong. She's always been a tiny thing (we're talking 17 pounds tiny-Tate weighs almost 20 lbs and he's not even 1 yet) and a picky eater, but the past months she's become super anemic and gotten to where she'll go days without eating ANYTHING--and when she does finally eat, she gets so sick and throws it all back up. She's on a feeding tube that she'll probably be on for a while until she can get better and eat on her own. We miss having our little "hay" around and are praying the doctors can figure this out so she can get better and come home!

How I love summer!

So we went and bought Tate one of those little plastic pools for the yard on Saturday and he loved it! He loves to take baths, but I thought maybe the freezing cold canal water we have (gotta love Riverton's secondary water system) would deter him...not so! ummm, I don't think he's supposed to drink that but whatever

cheese ball

Then later on Jordan and Chace finally put together my porch swing, hooray! Don't you love how our freakin neighbors can sit on their deck and stare right into our business? That's why we have planted those huge trees you can see behind Jord. Anyway, it was practically dark by the time they finished so I didn't get a picture of the finished beauty, but don't worry-I will be spending many a days on that while Tate roams free in the yard...
