My little Chace

Ok, he's not so little. But my brother-in-law Ace is the closest thing to a little brother that I have, and he just got his mission call to.....McAllen, Texas, spanish speaking! It's on the Mexican border, with 80% hispanics; so he may as well be going to Mexico. Growing up with all older sisters this was a first for me to be there when someone gets their letter, it was so exciting. I'm dreading him leaving and I think the MTC is a cruel place--there's a reason I had only sisters!! But I am so happy for him and I love him and will miss him lots!

Happenings....

These past two weeks this is the only thing we've done. Tate has been sick for almost 3 weeks with some crazy virus that the doctors didn't really know. He had a constant fever, mouth sores, and this weird blistery rash all over his body--the poor kid looked like a leper. This picture doesn't even do justice, this was just one small part that was actually looking not so bad....I hate having a sick baby.

On a lighter note, I had to post this picture because Jord looks like a total gomer and it cracks me up. Last Sunday Jord was getting ready for church and Tate was asleep--Jord's church clothes are in Tate's room and I refused to let him go in there since Tate hadn't been sleeping since he was sick and I was not chancing waking him up. So he had to improvise with a dorky "Love Healthcare" polo and a tie. Not to mention the shag 'do and nasty beard he's growing for the annual Cinco de Mustache party. I know your all jealous of me ladies, eat your heart out.

Easter Weekend

On Friday we went to Grandma Love's to color easter eggs...it's like carving pumpkins for Halloween. The thought of it seems so fun but when you do it it's really not. Tate just wanted to dip his hands in it; hence this blue hand for the rest of the weekend:The Easter Bunny got a little carried away this year. For some reason she couldn't stop herself and brought "presents" like it was Christmas. I need to tell her to calm down, that will NOT be happening every year.......Especially because all Tate cared about in the end was the candy. The annual Easter egg hunt at Grandma Wakefield's. I don't know why we always try to do a group picture of all the kids...this is as good as it got.

Another paint job...

Apparently every April I get the painting bug because the last few springs I have re-done a room in our house. This year it was the family room. I now remember why I only do this once a YEAR....I hate doing it. But I love the results.

Before with everything stripped off the walls and just a big mess

during....After! Now if only we had the money to get new decorations, entertainment center, couches......Oh, and did I mention how I dropped my ipod in the paint? Seriously. Somehow though, it still works.

Disneyland...

We spent this past week in Disneyland with my family--it was so much fun! Two of the days were freezing cold, but the other days were pretty nice. It's REALLY making me long for warm weather....Tate loved looking out the window while we took off
I think the highlight of the trip for Tate was meeting Buzz. He just kept staring at him and smiling, it was so cute.In Bear Country there's a place where kids can splash around so Tate was in heaven. At one point he was so soaked I took his pants off and let him run around in his shirt and diaper. A worked came up to me and told me that he wasn't allowed to be without pants and to put them back on. Seriously?? He's 2 years old, not some creepy old guy walking around naked. Duh.Here's most of the gang on Small World...with 19 of us we took up almost 2 boats! We had to go on it like 6 or 7 times, since Tate cried every time we got off. So I resorted to filming the whole ride for him to watch later....all 10 minutes of it.

standing in line for the new Toy Story ride...with our cool 3-D shadesI must be getting old because I cannot go on the Tea Cups of all rides...it makes me so sick. So Jord and Meg had to go on it instead.

Goodbye old friend....hello big boy bed!!

I would like to say farewell to an old friend who's been good to us for 19 months. But now you no longer serve your original purpose--you are now a balance beam, a climbing wall, and a diving board. Til' the next child.....

Now, say hello to our new bed:

Ta-da!! Tate loves it....well he loves jumping on it. Hopefully someday I can get him to actually sleep in it. (I'm hoping the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse bedding will draw him to it...)
