My big girl!!

I can't believe I'm posting this picture because A) I was pissed when I found out Jordan took it in the first place, and B) it's so embarrassing.  But this was my desperation/exhaustion one night a few weeks ago.  And just so you know, I've never slept in the crib before and it was as awful as you can imagine.  Marley had been sleeping badly and really hating her crib for a while. So one night she wouldn't come in my bed but wanted me to sleep with her and I was so tired I climbed on in.  The next morning I told Jordan that it was time for a big girl bed!  She must have been ready for one because she loves it and has actually done really well.  It's just kind of weird to not have a crib up anymore and know that we won't be putting it up again!

Waterlogged

I'm pretty sure by the end of the summer I will be waterlogged.  My kids on the other hand would live in a pool if allowed.  That is definitely a Love trait; us Wakefield's can't even swim...for reals.  We were never really water people.  But I am glad Tate and Marley inherited that gene, I want them to not be afraid of water and swim like fish!  It's only 3 weeks into summer and we have ran through sprinklers, done the slip-n-slide, bought our season pass to Cowabunga Bay, and swam a million times at the Love's pool.  If only my pasty white skin could ever get a nice tan.  Oh well.

Sleepovers

There's a million great things about living so close to cousins, but our new favorite is....sleepovers!!  Tate and Hailey have just realized this and they love it.  This was their first sleepover at Meg's and she took this picture of them, so cute!  I can't wait for a summer full of these!

May in review.

May started out with the 5th (?) annual Cinco de Mustache.  Jordan of course did not disappoint.

Tate played soccer again and still loves it.  He would never let me get a picture so here's the back of him.

I've loved seeing him evolve these past 2 years.  In the beginning he was scared and would never go in for the ball, and now he loves to get dirty and score as much as he can!

Tate had the cutest Mother's Day program at school.  They sang some great songs and had written things about their mom's.....apparently he thinks I look pretty when I wear clothes.  As opposed to when I run around naked all the time??  And he loves me because I make him vacuum.  He's so funny.
He also finished his first year of preschool last week!  He's really come a long way and we will always love his teacher Mrs. Hopkin for that!
Couldn't leave out Miss Moo!  She has been busy getting filthy every single day.  She loves nothing more than to just sit and play in the dirt and throw it in her hair.

Which is why I couldn't be more happy to get our grass in!  Jord's been working hard these past few weeks to get the backyard ready, and now it's done!  So hopefully the kids can play more on the grass than getting muddy all the time.

Story of my Life...

All I wanted was a cute picture of the kids.  This is what I got and I realized, this picture depicts my life lately.  Tate antagonizing Marley to death with an innocent face like "who me?" and Marley freaking out crying and being dramatic.  ALL DAY EVERY DAY, I MIGHT LOSE MY MIND.

Superhero!

Sometime being a stay-at-home mom makes me feel like my brain is turning to mush.  Now I know it is because even my dreams are turning ridiculous.  That or I'm turning into a 5 year old boy.  The other night I dreamed that I was a superhero-wearing spandex, cape and all- and I was saving the world from "bad guys."  And I was saving the world by flying in the sky and launching water balloons on these "bad guys." Seriously.

Easter

The Easter Bunny finally scaled back this year and just got the kids some candy, a small toy, and their traditional church clothes. They looked so cute (and handsome) all dressed up so I wanted to get a good picture of them together:
Ya, this was the best one I could get. Now I know why I didn't do a Christmas card...

This year was Marley's first year doing an Easter egg hunt with the Wakefield's though. Last year she didn't go because she had just broken her arm and was sick with hand, foot and mouth; so she loved finding the eggs! She didn't even care what was in them. And Grandma Kathy got them both new skates! Mar just walks in hers like they're a new pair of shoes, but Tate is getting pretty good at actually skating! It's a good thing we have an unfinished basement because he just wants to wear them all the time around the house.
