Merry Christmas!!

We sat on Santa's lap for about .01 seconds. Maybe next year.
Hope everyone has a great Christmas!

You know we look hot in these sweaters.

So this past weeks Christmas festivities consisted of an "ugly sweater" party at the Perkins. It was hillarious to see everyone in their best sweaters. Jord looked like Bill Cosby, mine had shoulder pads, and even Tate's was awesome.

Here's all of us taking our turns on Rock Band. Jord did an amazing rendition of the Killers, and I was just trying not to screw up too bad.We had a great time eating, talking, and chasing around 8 kids under the age of 3. Thanks Brynn and Steve for the great night.

Then Friday I DESPERATELY needed a night away with my mom, dad and sisters. We went to dinner and walked around gateway-it was freezing, but really fun. I love that when I need to get away I can always call them for a good time.
Stay tuned for next weeks festivities....(I know you can't wait).

Wheeler Farm

All the years when I was growing up, the whole month of December was fun-not just Christmas day. We made cookies, went to see Santa, went to temple square to see the lights, walked to the decorated ZCMI windows downtown (remember those?), etc. And even though Tate is still too young to even understand any of it, I want to do those same things with him. So last night we started out this season by going to Wheeler Farm to see the lights. Meg and the girls came with us, and it was super fun just to walk around. Side note if your going: do what we did and walk around yourself, nobody else does it. We weren't about to pay the $5.00 a person just to ride the tractor and get a cup of hot chocolate--I can make my own at home for free.
Tate was so bundled up he looked like Randy from A Christmas Story...."I can't put my arms down!"....

You know what I'm thankful for? That this week is over.

I'm really not a scrooge, this was just a really crappy week. REALLY. First, I was sick for 3 days because of an endoscopy and colonoscopy I had (let me tell you how fun they were). Jord was supposed to take me to the hospital, and Tate was going to stay with his aunt Jen. Well, Tate ended up with a fever screaming all Monday night, so Jord stayed to take him to the doctor while my mom took off work to go with me. Tate had a cold and an ear infection, which he's never had before. Then today Tate got the stomach flu...which he's also never had before. I have never seen so much vomit out of one person. So needless to say, this week was just....rotten.

The one bright spot in the week was Thanksgiving day! We spent it with Jord's family, and it was so fun and relaxing....and delicious!

BCS Bound!

This post is for Jord, the biggest Utes fan I know. Today he and his family left at 1:30 for the game against BYU....you know, they didn't want to be late or anything for the 4:00 game. It was a great game, and the best part was the Utes won!! Final score: 48-24. Eat that Cougar fans. Jord, Josh and Steve (sorry it's dark, he took it with his phone)

I am NOT a morning person.

This is what I see every morning-the sunrise. It would be pretty if I were on the beaches of Hawaii, instead of the neighborhoods of Riverton. Tate wakes up before the roosters...I consider it sleeping in if he doesn't get up until 7:30.

Our favorite toys right now...

Lately all Tate wants to do is drink out of my spray bottle. I have to fill it up with water for him and he walks around all day like this. Maybe I'll start filling it with milk or something....

And my new favorite toy is this: (I think it's adorable, it looks like a backpack)Yep, I am one of those mom's that you see in the mall and feel bad for the kid because he's stuck to a leash like a dog. But frankly I don't care, and Tate loved it! He thought it was the funnest thing ever. I really had no choice, he is awful to take places. The second I let him down he is off running far far away, he could care less where I am. So I borrowed this from Meg and it is the best. This picture I just had to post because look at the kids poor forehead! It's full of bruises and goose eggs. I love that he can walk, but jeez, quit running into walls already.
